INTERNATIONAL FERRO METALS (SA) (Pty) Limited was established and is operated with Quality as a core value in its management
philosophy. Our philosophy is expressed through the selection of the highest quality
raw materials, the employment of sophisticated production technology; the application
of advanced procedures and in the services offered.
INTERNATIONAL FERRO METALS (SA) (PTY) LIMITED is committed to a policy of Total Quality Assurance
and our quality policy is thus directed toward achieving the following objectives:
- To provide customers with a high level of confidence that goods and services supplied,
will comply with an agreed specification and within the agreed time scale.
- To ensure that this policy is understood, implemented and maintained throughout
the Company. To make quality a way of life for every employee.
- The continuous improvement of quality and productivity .The corrects first time
approach.
- To maintain efficient and effective communications between all departments and functions.
- To increase quality awareness with all personnel working for or on behalf of INTERNATIONAL
FERRO METALS (SA) (PTY) LIMITED.
- Quality control will be a vital component of all phases in the production process.
It will begin with the selection and processing of raw materials to meet the Company’s
stringent requirements. All input material will be sampled and analysed on receipt
and prior to passing into the plant. All material flows throughout the plant will
be monitored to ensure a final product of consistent chemical and sizing specification.
- To monitor key indicators so as to facilitate control of quality performance. The
use of computerised technology will ensure that the Company will comply with the
most modern statistical control methods.
- To set up an effective organisational structure and information system and ensure
allocation of sufficient resources to meet the Quality objectives and targets
- INTERNATIONAL FERRO METALS (SA) (PTY) LIMITED’s commitment to total quality management
will not only be expressed in its products and technology, but also in its concern
for its greatest asset – its people.
- The sophistication of INTERNATIONAL FERRO METALS (SA) (PTY) LIMITED’s plant and
technology will require a highly skilled operating workforce. Personnel recruitment
will be a critical function and extensive training will be undertaken, both in a
formal training environment and at the workplace. The sophisticated plant will require
skilful and dedicated engineering workforce for the prevention of plant defects
and to maintain quality of operation.
- To improve managerial and technical skills and to instill the need for self-discipline
and attention to detail in all personnel in conducting the activities of the Company.
- Through continual research and development INTERNATIONAL FERRO METALS (SA) (PTY)
LIMITED will ensure it remains a world leader in chromium production technology
and cost effectiveness.
- To conduct thorough investigations where deviations or non-conformances occur and
to implement the appropriate preventative and corrective actions.
- To audit to assess the effectiveness of the quality management systems and to assist
management in improving performance.
- To undertake reviews to ensure compliance with this policy and the continual improvement
of INTERNATIONAL FERRO METALS (SA) (PTY) LIMITED quality performance.
With the active participation of all employees, who are individually and collectively
responsible for our performance, and through the commitment of continual improvement
of the quality performance, we will incorporate Total Quality Management within
our global strategy. To evidence such commitments, we will publish this policy together
with our quality performance results, as a part of INTERNATIONAL FERRO METALS (SA)
(PTY) LIMITED Annual Report.
