The company mission is to grow and operate sustainable, profitable and efficient mining & mineral processing businesses, with emphasis on mineral products required for the international steel industry and in the process to engage in ethical, and environmental and social responsible methods.

In accordance with this mission, the Company has commenced its expansion strategy by planning the construction of an additional three 66MVA furnaces, a 600ktpa pelletising and sintering plant and an ore beneficiation plant of 1.1Mtpa, with associated services with a view to more than double its current production to 665ktpa. In July 2007, the Group raised sufficient equity for this expansion. Due to the current electricity constraints in South Africa, the Group intends to expand its production in a phased manner by constructing elements of the complete plant ahead of its planned furnace development. In this way, the company will take advantage of the record selling prices being achieved for beneficiated chrome ore.

The Company will continue to focus on its relationships with stainless steel producers and aims to be a main participant in possible consolidation in the South African ferrochrome industry. In addition, the Directors continually evaluate corporate opportunities that exist both in and beyond the ferrochrome market to take advantage of the Company's position and commercial relationships.
