CONSTRUCTION of International Ferro Metals’ R1,1bn chrome mine and smelter at Buffelsfontein
in the western bushveld was now 42% complete and on track to start production in
April next year, MD Stephen Turner said yesterday. International Ferro Metals, which
was formerly called Transvaal Ferro-Chrome, listed on London’s Alternative Investment
Market last September, raising £80m for development of the smelter.

made with the development of International Ferro Metals’ (IFM’s) new ferrochrome-smelter
project at Mooinooi near Brits in the North Western province. Construction on the
project started on November 15, last year, in order to commence site establishment
